February 2022 Focus, Book Club, and Challenge

Happy (almost!) February, friends! So excited you are here and hope you will join in for our February Book Club 🙂

February Focus: Rejection and Living Loved

Whether it’s being left out of a group of coworkers, or being given a cold shoulder from the mommy and me group, being broken up with, the loss of a friendship, or abandonment by a spouse or parent we all have stories we could share about being left out, uninvited, and rejected. The good news is that even though the enemy wants us to feel rejected, God wants us to live loved! And He has given us a love that we can count on. We are going to remind ourselves that we have a love that will never fade, never reject us, and will always invite us in. I hope this month encourages you and helps to put truth to the lies the enemy may be shouting. We share an incredible love story with the Lord and each day is another page in that story ❤

February Book Choice: “Uninvited: Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left Out, and Lonely” by Lysa TerKeurst

February Challenge: Pray the prayer on pages 25-26 of “Uninvited” as you work through your story.

February Bonus: Free printable journaling pages you can download HERE! My hope is these will help to provide a space to journal your thoughts and feelings as you read through “Uninvited.”

February Challenge:

It may be a challenge to revisit and think on past rejections and hurts. I hope that’s not where you stay! I hope that this book encourages you and shifts your mindset to one of being loved. This month the challenge will be to pray the prayer Lysa pens on pages 25-26 of the book. Go to God with this prayer on your heart daily or as often as you pick up the book to read. Journal through your feelings and remind yourself that God is good and that He loves you very much.

February Book Club:

This month we are reading “Uninvited: Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left Out, and Lonely” by Lysa TerKeurst. Lysa is the president of Proverbs 31 Ministries, a best-selling author of more than twenty books, a wife and mother. She has publicly lived out her life, including the separation and reconciliation of her marriage, and the divorce it finally ended in. She shares her personal stories of rejection and abandonment and examines the roots of rejection and how it can poison us and our relationships – even our relationship with God. It can blind us to the beautiful love we have in Christ. She teaches us we can stop feeling “set aside” and begin to live loved.

TO DO:

*Purchase your copy of “Uninvited” by Lysa TerKeurst anywhere books are sold (Amazon, Christianbook.com, Hobby Lobby, etc.) and begin reading.

*Join us on the blog on Fridays through the month of February as we discuss that week’s chapters. We will be reading four chapters a week, with the first week’s questions on Friday, February 4th.

*Comment with what you’re learning and answer the discussion questions, so we can all learn from one another!

Hope you’ll join in!
