February Bucket List

Spread the love and Valentine’s Day cheer all month long! February can be a memorable month of showing love and kindness to others. Instead of focusing on, and giving such great significance to, the one day of Valentine’s, let’s focus on family time, self care, showing appreciation to others, and love- all month long!

Decorate your home with Valentine’s décor.

Dollar stores have such fun and cute Valentine’s decorations! You don’t have to spend a ton of money to add a little Valentine cheer to your home. Hobby Lobby has cute stuff too (usually for 40% off!).

Bake heart shaped cookies.

Let your kiddos help cut them out with fun heart shaped cookie cutters!

Mail Valentine’s cards to friends.

Who doesn’t love receiving something other than a bill in the mail?! The tradition of Valentine’s cards can continue with fun cards to your friends letting them know how grateful you are to have them in your life! Check out Pinterest for free printables or pick up a few while you’re at the dollar store! 😉

Wear red.

I know sometimes we hesitate to wear such a bold color but this is the month to do it! Grab that red sweater or shirt and rock it!

Watch a romantic comedy.

I miss those nights of curling up on the couch and watching my favorite chick flicks with my friends! I think this tradition should be brought back into my life!

Plan a date night.

Splurge on a babysitter and hit the town! Or curl up at home after the kids go to bed. Play a new Board game, pour a glass of wine by the fire….get creative! It doesn’t have to be on Valentine’s Day either; pick any night this month!

Paint your nails pink or red.

Or treat yourself to a fun Valentine’s day inspired manicure!

Drink a Cupid’s cocoa or red velvet coffee.

You can make regular hot cocoa and add pink and white marshmallows to dress it up or try this fun recipe! The Coffee Bean has a great red velvet cocoa or ice blended drink. You can even order Red Velvet coffee HERE (or buy at World Market)!

Show kindness to a stranger.

Perhaps you could pay for the coffee of the person in front of you in the drive-thru? Or leave a treat in your mailbox for the mailman? Let someone go ahead of you in line at the grocery store or hold open the door for a Mom with a stroller. A little kindness goes a long way.

Read 1 Corinthians 13 and meditate on it.

Read what God has to say that love is. Are you showing the characteristics of love?

Do a Bible study on love.

Perhaps study God’s love during this month. Lean into Him and let His love surround you.

Give coworkers a note of appreciation.

Coworkers can make the work day so much more bearable, right?! Let them know they are appreciated. If you’re working from home, send a sweet email!

Spend time in prayer.

Connect with God in prayer. Ask Him to help you feel His love in a special way and to be able to reflect His love to others.

Give your kids and spouse a Valentine’s treat.

Give them a special treat to remind them of how much they are loved.

Hope you have a fabulous month, friends! It’s been a crazy year already and I hope these fun ideas help add a little love and sweetness to your day!
