November Focus, Book Club, and Challenge

Hi friends! It’s almost November and that means it’s time to announce our new book choice, focus, and challenge for the month! 🎉

November Focus: Take Your Seat

What if we really believed that we are seated with Christ? What would life look like if you didn’t have to fight your way into acceptance or compare your place with anyone else’s? What freedom would come from changing your mindset and knowing you were completely accepted by Christ and already had a seat at His table?

During this month of Thanksgiving, when many of us sit down around the table with the people we love let’s also take our seat with Christ. Let’s live as people who know our place and live from there. With our seats taken, we can live freely!

Challenge: Memorize Ephesians 2:6

Book Choice: “Seated with Christ: Living Freely in a Culture of Comparison” by Heather Holleman

Bonus: Printable Ephesians 2:6 verse.

November Challenge:

Our challenge this month will be to memorize Ephesians 2:6 which says “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.” Memorizing this verse will help us to remind ourselves that we are already seated with Christ and we can live from there. You can download a free printable of the verse by clicking HERE. Print it and place it where you can see it daily!

November Book Club:

This month we are reading “Seated with Christ: Living Freely in a Culture of Comparison” by Heather Holleman. Heather dives into Ephesians 2:6 and asks “What does it mean to be seated with Christ? How does that effect our lives on Earth?” In this book Heather will discuss what it looks like to be fighting for a place at the table versus what it looks like to live from a place of knowing where your seat is. She gives us an understanding of how this knowledge allows us to live with an eternal perspective but also creates a shift in our mindset for our lives right now. There are so many areas of life where we are tempted to compare our lives – social media, our ministry, our kids, our jobs and houses. Heather gives practical tips on how to live without comparison and walk in the freedom of a person who knows she is accepted and has a seat at the table. So, let’s take our seat!

TO DO:

*Purchase your copy of “Seated with Christ.”

*Read at your own pace! We take the month to read at our own pace and then come together at the end of the month to discuss the book by answering discussion questions about the content. Discussion questions will be posted on November 30th!

Hope you will join in!
