September Focus: Discernment

Do you ever look out at what’s going on in the world and think, “This can’t be how God intended life to be”? There’s so much going on! So much information and chaos that we are faced with on a daily basis. We find ourselves just trying to survive. This month we’re going to try to cut through all of this craziness and see what’s good. Discernment helps us to separate what is good and then to use that information to thrive. In the midst of all of this, we can rediscover God and His goodness.

We are a people that have a lot of knowledge. We have access to the Internet and answers to any questions we might have. However, that doesn’t mean that we can discern what is actually true. This month we will look into the book of Proverbs to help us grow in wisdom and discernment. Check back here on the blog on Monday, September 13th for the 10 Day Proverbs Challenge!

September Book Club

This month we are reading, “All That’s Good: Rediscovering the Lost Art of Discernment” (winner of the TGC Book Aware for Christian Living 2018) by Hannah Anderson. Hannah is an author, blogger, and podcast host. In this book, she invites us to open our eyes to God’s goodness all around us. Using discernment, we can remember that what God made is good and He will eventually restore it all to the good that He intended. In the meantime, we can have fresh eyes to see what is here and be drawn away from the chaos and into the good. I’m super excited to read this book with you! I think it is going to be a breath of fresh air!
