Share Four Somethings – March 2021

Did March fly by for you?! It feels like it went by in a blur! We started out the month visiting the snow and are ending the month with 90 plus temperatures. Spring has sprung, flowers are blooming and we have been trying to spend as much time as possible outside. We planted some new trees in our yard, played at the playground and I got to spend some time outside reading on my swing. I love Spring except for the crazy allergies I have at this time of year!

I’m excited to link up with Heather for a new monthly post! I thought it would be a great way to stop and spend a little time thinking on the month and help to continue to cultivate gratitude.

Something Loved:

It’s really rare that I get a massage, but this month my husband set up an appointment for me and it was bliss! He doesn’t normally set up these kinds of things for me so it was a sweet surprise and a really nice break. The massage therapist was so great and it was my first ever hot stone massage!

Something Read/Said:

I actually did a ton of reading this month and it was awesome. But what was really amazing was reading this Easter book with my five year old. We’ve talked about the Easter story before and what Jesus did but this was the first time he really seemed to get it. It was a surreal and beautiful feeling to share the gospel story with my own son and hear him ask questions like, “But why did Jesus have to die?” and then say, in his sweet little voice, “I love God!”

Something Treasured:

A family fun day in Julian where the kiddos got to see snow for the first time. It was a really fun and sweet time watching their excited faces, tossing snowballs, attempting to build a snowman, and having hot cocoa. So fun 🙂

Something Ahead:

  • Celebrating Easter with my family
  • Reading “Another Gospel?” with book club
  • More tree planting and working on our yard
  • Getting my mind wrapped around summer being on its way. Summers here are pretty brutal and I always tend to get a bit of Seasonal Affective Disorder (I know – it’s usually wintertime that people are affected by this!). I’m hoping swims at the pool, water balloon and squirt gun fights, barbeques, and being able to see people again will help (as well as praying too!)

Thanks for reading! Hope you all had a great month 🙂

    1. Excited to join in! Yes, it was so nice! It had been about a year since my last one so it was a nice surprise! 🙂

  1. I’ve been dreaming about getting a pro massage for so long – what a lovely treat! Also very fun that the kids got to experience snow!

  2. Other ideas to help with your Seasonal Affective Disorder, from a summer-lover.

Lightboxes with ice, salt, and food coloring…LOTS of fun play.

Take REALLY close-up face photos of your kids eating watermelon.

99 cent cans of shaving cream to play with in cool baths.

    Glad to meet you.
