Share Four Somethings – March 2022

Hello friends I am so excited to be back for the monthly link up with Heather! This is where we share four somethings from the month. The new categories for this year are: something loved, gleaned, braved, and achieved.

Something Loved

I loved that we were able to get out and enjoy the weather and spend time together. I was happy to get to see my sisters and brother and spend some time with my dad, too. This picture is from a local car show that we love. It’s usually held around St. Patrick’s Day but because of COVID, they haven’t had it the past two years. It was fun to visit it again and check out all the cool cars.

Something Gleaned

I just finished “Humble Roots” by Hannah Anderson. It was such a great book and I was struck with conviction and encouragement in each chapter. The message of humility leading to true rest was one I’ve definitely needed. She talked a lot about pride being an obstacle to experiencing the life we truly desire and I was blown away at how spot on she was about it. I didn’t think that I was a prideful person but this book sure opened my eyes to the ways I am not practicing humility in my life.

Something Braved

We finally were able to have my son’s surgery. This is the same surgery he was scheduled for last July that then got canceled and rescheduled and rescheduled again. Obviously, my son was the truly brave one but this Mama held it together and didn’t dissolve into a puddle of tears like I wanted to! So thankful he came out of surgery well and we are glad to have this done and over with!

Something Achieved

Does having a date night count? 😜 During our anniversary weekend last month, my husband and I decided we needed to make a goal of having a monthly date night. Then we honestly kind of forgot about it this month. Isn’t it so easy to put that on the back burner?! Last week I told him we needed to plan something because the month was almost over. The very next day a friend of his offered him concert tickets. We were cracking up at the timing and felt so grateful for this gift. We saw REO Speedwagon, had dinner beforehand and had a great time.

I can’t believe another month is over! Thanks for reading, friends! Hope April is good to you ❤

  1. Thanks for sharing so many good things! I put Humble Roots on my TBR list, it sounds great. We have to be brave a lot for our kiddos, don’t we? I am still finding that true and my “babies” are 19 and soon to be 17. I love that you and your husband were able to have a date night. It is something my husband and I said we would do regularly but don’t. Thanks for sharing.

    1. My kids definitely make me braver and I’m not sure I realized that til now! 😉 Thanks Cindy! Hope you have a great day 🙂

  2. Thanks for the book recommendation, Jennifer, I purchased the audiobook. I’m glad your son’s surgery went well. Yes, having a date is definitely something achieved! I’m glad you were able to connect with extended family members.
