Take a Minute

I hope you’re not freaking out that Thanksgiving is this week!

For those of you who are hosting Thanksgiving dinners, I applaud you for taking it on! As you gather your turkey and groceries, pull out the nice dishware and set the table, I hope you’re able to take a minute and focus on the reason behind the celebration-giving thanks.

As Christians, this season of thanksgiving is about so much more than pilgrims and harvest. It is about Jesus. Remembering and being thankful for what He did on the cross and what He continues to do for us each and every day.

This week may be a hectic and crazy one as you handle kiddos out from school, visit family and friends, bake pies, eat pies, and attempt the perfect turkey. In the midst of celebration and preparation, I encourage you to take a minute to read these Scriptures. There is one for each day leading up to Thanksgiving. You can print and cut them out- stow them in your purse so you can read them as you’re out, or put on your mirror or fridge where you can easily see them. They’ll just take a minute and I pray it helps you to slow down and focus on thankfulness and on all the blessings and benefits we’ve received from God.
