Friday Favorites – May 7, 2021

Happy Friday friends! I feel like I’ve been waiting for Friday all week! I’m looking forward to Mother’s Day this weekend and to a fun time with family. Linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some of my favorite things from the week!

This celebration:

My sweet friend is getting married next week (eeee!). We were able to celebrate her bachelorette/bridal shower with a small group of vaccinated friends for the weekend. We splurged on a once-in-a-lifetime dinner experience. Seriously, when will I ever sit through a seven course meal again?! There were ingredients and food items I’d never even heard of before: sea lettuce, pinchiberries, wagyu beef… Everything was just WOW! It was so nice to be social again and celebrate! I’m so happy for her and so glad we were able to celebrate this special time in her life.

This book:

I just finished this last night and really liked it. The characters were really interesting with just enough intrigue to keep you wondering. Apparently, it’s been adapted into a TV show on Hulu too!

This recipe:

Cheesy Pesto Chicken was a Pinterest find and it was delicious! When I pulled it out of the oven it looked so good I had to take a few pictures of it, lol. Super simple with only a few ingredients then toss in the oven. Easy peasy!

This app:

The kids have been asking to watch “the God story” before bed this week. They love that it reads the story to them and the interactive areas where they can touch the screen and make the characters move and react. It’s been fun to watch them enjoy it. Always trying to find fun ways to share “the God story” with them!

This quote:

“If God already knows what you need before you even ask, what’s the point? He already knows, so why are you asking? You might think that God is up in heaven taking notes, as if our prayers are informing him of things he doesn’t already know about. No, he already knows what you need—and that’s why the primary point of prayer is not actually to get something, but to know Someone.” David Platt

Thanks for reading! Hope you have a great weekend!
