March Focus, Book Club, and Challenge

Hey friends! It’s time for our March focus and book club pick!

We have been reading one book a month that corresponds with our focus for the month. These topics can be areas that we want to grow in or learn more about.

Here is our focus and book choice for March!

March Focus: Humility

Do you ever feel like if you could just find the right meal plan or schedule or life hack then things would become peaceful and there wouldn’t be any more chaos? In our hearts I think we know that’s not really true but we still tend to exhaust ourselves in the pursuit of it. Jesus tells us we can come to Him – all of us who are heavy laden will find rest in Him. Our book choice this month tells us how – and it is through humility that we find what we are really looking for.

March Challenge: Talk a walk outside. Find a botanical garden or a path outdoors where you can meander through the trees or flowers and pray. Think about how God takes care of the flowers and the fields and how much more He cares for you.

March Book Choice: “Humble Roots: How Humility Grounds and Nourishes Your Soul” by Hannah Anderson

March Bonus: Free printable scripture plan on humility

March Challenge

Challenge yourself to spend some time outdoors. Take a walk. Find a botanical garden or park. Spend some time in nature. Or find any path outdoors (even through your neighborhood) where you can meander through the trees or flowers. While you walk, meditate on how God takes care of all that you see – the flowers, trees, cactus – and how much more He cares for you.

March Book Club

This month we are reading “Humble Roots” by Hannah Anderson. Facing her own anxieties and feeling worn thin, Hannah knew there had to be a different way. She found herself thinking on Jesus and how He presents Himself as one who is “gentle and lowly” – as one who is full of humility. In this book, she takes us on a journey to discover the way of humility. It is an invitation, not a how-to manual. It is biblical and wise and I’m super excited to read this one. I feel like God has been pressing upon me the need for humility. I tend to think that it’s all on me and want to control things, thinking if I can just find the right plan or routine then life can be more manageable. All is does is wear me thin and I know there has to be a different way. I think this book is going to be a game-changer and I’m so glad you are here as we dig into “Humble Roots.”
